Iím a doctor of naturopathic medicine who developed this site because I believe issues of self-care are more important than ever. And I believe you are capable of learning to take better care of yourself and your family by applying the basic principles of naturopathy, and using safe and effective natural therapies. I want to help you do that.
It didnít take many years of consulting to realize that, in my office, I can only reach one person at a time. Through this site I can multiply my efforts and make useful information available to many people, almost anywhere, anytime. No appointment necessary!
With rare exceptions, it is possible to achieve a good level of wellness without taking a lot of “stuff”. So I’ve selected a few well-chosen items whose effectiveness and worth have stood the test of time in my practice. You’ll also find links to other suppliers I use and like.
The secrets to health and wellness are simple: good life style and wholesome diet choices; sufficient rest, exercise, and good water; conscientiously practicing your faith; and spending time with friends and family who love and support you in healthy ways.
To share and expand upon the health care skills presented on this web site, MidWest Botanicals offers workshops and seminars. Choose one that’s “readymade”, or fill out the on-line form to request and design a seminar to fit the interest and needs of your group. I’ll also provide links to quality seminars presented by other organizations.
Every home should have its own health reference library to help you make the right health care choices. But what to choose? Iíll make suggestions on books, CDís, DVDís and tapes. Iíve spent years combing through information on natural healing so I can recommend the best resources for you. Iíll also share information on my favorite places to find good used materials. Send me an e-mail about your favorites to share.
I hope you have as much fun with this site as I will, and learn a few things along the way. While time doesnít allow me to answer individual questions and concerns, I would like to hear from you about making this site informative and user-friendly. If thereís enough interest in a particular topic, Iíll research it and write about it in the newsletter.
Thanks for checking in. Enjoy the site and consider it your link to the vital information you need to make the best health care choices possible. Now spread the word and tell others!
